Hello All.
AGGREGATOR is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
I got a 35 minute podcast talking about the business hurdles of switching conferences for a school like NM State. It’s more about selling yourself to another conference, and how the whole entity of NM State, UTEP, and the people who cover and support them as fans play a huge part in that, while millions of dollars are at stake.

Your vote matters, and if AGGREGATOR wins a couple of trophies after not even existing one year ago, that would be something else.
I also want to announce the launch of my store.
I have some creative shirt designs I would like to share with you. While of course, I cannot sell AGGIES stuff, there is some amazing shirts done locally that you should totally buy, there are a lot of things on the periphery of what we love that I can make for you. Inspired by the Catholics vs Convicts shirt of the 1980s, this shirt is made to celebrate the rivalry from us down south going against our big brothers up north.'
Aggies Soccer Takes Down Gonzaga - Guha Shuts Out The Bulldogs 1-0
The Aggie Women’s Soccer team had a bit of a rough patch the last couple of weeks. A nearly 3-game long scoreless streak and 3 losses in a row have made a fabulous start evaporate. But a trip to Spokane to wind down the non-conference slate was just what the doctor ordered, as the Aggies got a 13th minute goal by Sydnee Johnson, and relied on 9 key Valerie Guha saves to earn a clean sheet and beat the Bulldogs 1-0 on Thursday night.
Aggies came out very aggressively early on, drawing a few fouls, and playing much faster than the last couple of games. But one thing was certain about the Bulldogs (3-3-1), they love to shoot the ball.
21 shots total for Gonzaga, including 9 on goal kept Goalkeeeper Valerie Guha busy. She earns Player of the Match for her clean sheet (That’s British speak for shutout, in case you didn’t know) as the Aggies come back home victorious.
A match vs Sam Houston awaits the Aggies in Huntsville next Thursday. I will be here to cover it!
Clean Sheet, 9 Saves.
Scoring Summary:
12:03 - NM State - Sydnee Johnson (1)

Let’s Play Two….Volleyball Games! Aggies Play 2 Games on Friday in Borderland Invitational
Any time I think of two games in one day, I immediately think of Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks. Well, in the spirit of Mr. Cub, The New Mexico State Volleyball team, fresh off of snapping a 3-game losing streak will play 2 games on Friday against 0-6 Texas Southern and 2-4 Abilene Christian.
The Aggies are playing a game at home for the first time in 10 months, and after two weeks of road games to start the season. With lofty expectations in the preseason, the Aggies (2-3) are going to be at home for 6 of 7 games, with three of them in about a 26 hour span. Here’s the schedule for the whole tournament:
Match 1: Friday, Sept. 13 - Abilene Christian vs. Arizona (10:00 AM MT)
Match 2: Friday, Sept. 13 - Texas Southern at NM State (1:00 PM MT | ESPN+)
Match 3: Friday, Sept. 13 - Arizona vs. Texas Southern (1:00 PM MT)
Match 4: Friday, Sept. 13 - Abilene Christian at NM State (7:00 PM MT | ESPN+)
Match 5: Saturday, Sept. 14 - Texas Southern vs. Abilene Christian (11:00 AM MT)
Match 6: Saturday, Sept. 14 - Arizona at NM State (2:00 PM MT | ESPN+)
The match against 0-6 Texas Southern is a rematch of a match last year, which NM State won, and Abilene Christian and NM State used to be in the same conference for years of course.
The Arizona matchup on Saturday is a big one to look out for. I will preview that next column. But early spoiler, the Aggies are 3-25 all time against the Wildcats, so hopefully 2 wins on Friday is in the cards for the Aggies.
