James good article. I agree on your thoughts about selecting a new AD. In my mind, Mario is almost irreplaceable. Not only was he an Aggie having gone to school here and played here, but it's in his psyche or his soul. You can't easily replace that. I know some people didn't like him, but he always did what he thought was best for New Mexico State. More importantly, he had a knowledge about athletics and a network of people throughout the United States that was very beneficial to this university. I was so disappointed that the new president didn't take the time to get to know him, his record and appreciate him for what he has done for this university.

Thank you for reading. You used one key word in your comment: Network. Those connections, those phone numbers in your cell phone or email addresses on your computer with people you meet over the years is something that is irreplaceable. I kind of knew it was inevitable, though I hate saying it, but 1 hour into your first day on the job is not nearly enough time to see if you can work with someone. I hope the best for him and for us!

Good article James. Thank you for all the information. Just wanted to let you know that the largest 3 on 3 basketball 🏀 tournament in the world is taking place over this weekend in Spokane. Close to 5,000 team's through out the country to play basketball. Basketball is so popular here that a majority of both the Zags women's and men's team attend. Yesterday Cory Kispert and both the Nemheart brothers were in attendance. Would love ❤️ to see something like this happen in Las Cruces

That sounds like a great little event. NM State used to do a Gus Macker 3x3 tourney here several years ago, but it moved to Ruidoso of all places. It lost a lot of mojo moving there because of the difficulty getting there directly, and that's saying something considering Las Cruces to an extent has that same problem.

Glad you had something to enjoy out there with that. One day we will get our ducks in a row and events will be here, even if I have to get my hands dirty and be a part of it. :)

My thoughts and prayers are with you folks in that general area where that terrible incident happened last night.

Thanks for everything as always!

With your enthusiasm and strong work ethic I bet you will be part of creating something very special for the Aggie community. Thank you for your prayers for the horrible event that took place in Coeur D Alene yesterday.
